Fall Into Fine Craft Artisan Spotlight – Beth Moser

Beth Moser began making beaded necklaces in college and discovered it was a good way to earn extra money. “At first, I started with stringing one strand of beads onto fish line and creating my own clasps because I had no prior knowledge of a “how to” on beading. A friend showed me how to create beaded flowers and ever since then, I have been hooked, not just from the fish line either!”

Beth’s passion for beading grew, so she learned a few stitches from friends, and then continued to teach herself by studying beading magazines. This self-taught artist dreamed of having a piece of hers published in one of those magazines. Goal accomplished – eight times, to date!

Beth’s designs begin with color. She says her ideas come from her dreams. She visualizes her designs, not sketching them, but working directly with the beads, creating the work as her mind’s eye sees it. Beth is a perfectionist, admitting proudly, “I make and remake the piece until it is the way I visualized it.”

Each of her pieces is an original work of wearable art. The piece is as unique as the lucky wearer; there’s no other one like it.

Beth’s work is on exhibit at the prestigious Corning Museum of Glass in NY. You can follow Beth on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/BethMoserDesigns.
Beth will be here, with over fifty other fine artisans, so mark your calendar, today! In the meantime, you can see more of Beth’s work at http://www.etsy.com/shop/bethmoserdesigns and on the Gallery page of http://www.ybcrafts.org.
