A.W.(everybody calls me Butcher) Martofel has been making welded metal art since the ‘60’s. About ten years ago, he and his wife Beth took his original concept of welded metal sculpture a new direction, when they opened their own powder coating business about ten years ago. Color!
Butcher and Beth meet the challenge of creating nature-inspired works – flowers and creatures of all kinds – in several stages. First, they determine what they want to make. Then, it’s brainstorming time to review their raw materials: metal kitchen utensils. After that, it’s time to build by cutting, bending, and welding, until the piece has the right shape. Finally, it gets it’s powder coat color.
You just can’t help smiling at the bright and cheerful work these two collaborators create.
Butcher and Beth will be here, with over fifty other fine artisans, so mark your calendar, today!
